We are taking over Gallery 1 with a packed programme full of interactive displays, exhibitions, workshops, talks, screenings and demonstrations to celebrate the art of skateboarding, shining the spotlight on Southampton’s rich skateboarding heritage and showcasing its cultural significance, exploring the reasons we need to embrace and expand its integration within our communities.

Come along and feast your eyes, ears and minds on our exhibition that celebrates local skateboarding themed photography, art, sculpture, film and literature.
Chill out in the lounge area and contribute your thoughts to our question wall that asks “How can we build a skate friendly city?” and add your designs to our blank deck design wall!

Zines have always been an integral part of underground culture and skateboarding is no different. Exercise your literal and visual muscles to make a tangible piece of history that you can take home and we hope inspires you to follow it up with a second issue!
We will have everything you need to cut , stick and fold you way to a final product “just like they did in the old days…”

Explore the technical and artistic elements that will help you to create iconic photos with live action skate models at your disposal who will perform on demand on our skate-able infrastructure sculptures designed by MARC CHURCHILL.
All equipment will be provided but we encourage you to bring your own and put it through its paces.

Bring your friends and family into our SPACE TO CREATE leave your mark on one of the 11 skateboards we have that collectively spell out “SOUTHAMPTON”.
We have all the tools you need to activate ideas and leave a mark on a unique series of skateboards that will be displayed and ridden all across the city thought the year! and beyond…
THESE BOARDS WILL THEN BE USED IN OUR SKATEBOARDING LESSONS SO YOU CAN COME AND LEARN TO RIDE ON A BOARD YOU DECORATED!
